Web Design: You Get What You Pay For

When you're shopping around for web design it may be tempting to go with that company that offers you a fantastic website for very little money. The thing you should keep in mind is just what that money is for, where they might try to add in extra fees, and whether you are actually getting a quality site. More often than not you really do get what you pay for in the world of web design companies.

Be sure to ask plenty of questions right from the beginning and know exactly what you are getting and how your project will be carried out. A preliminary quote is great for an initial idea, but it really comes down to what you will pay once they know all the details of your project. Don't be afraid to ask for a real bid, and allow some time to collect a few from different companies. You want to be able to compare and make an informed decision.

Now would be a good time to do some research on your prospective companies as well. Just because their price is great doesn't mean their service will be. Sometimes you have to pay a little extra to get the peace of mind that comes with a company that puts you and your site first. A website is a big investment and you want to know that you are getting quality work and that someone will be there to take care of you if something goes wrong. Web design "factories" are generally more concerned with making money than with happy clients, so know what you're getting into before you commit.
