SBA’s Impact for Entrepreneurs

According to sba.gov: "The SBA received $730 million in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery Act) to help unlock the small business lending market and get much needed capital flowing again to America's small businesses. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is an unprecedented effort to jump-start our economy, create or save millions of jobs, and ensure our nation can meet the challenges of the 21st century. The Recovery Act assigns a key role in this effort to the U.S. Small Business Administration, providing it with program tools that offer new economic incentives to small businesses and lenders alike, all aimed at growing our economy through job creation, re-starting lending, and investing in small businesses and the entrepreneurial spirit of Americans."

With the funding, SBA enables lenders to take less of a risk and encourage increased investing. Besides working with lenders directly, the SBA provides a variety of tools to enable entrepreneurs in launching new businesses and increased employment. Loan volume has already increased by more than 50% and lending overall seems to be making a steady recovery this year.
